A fitting and a security door should create one security unit.
A door in a certain security class must be matched with a fitting in the recommended level of security.
Security fitting has 2 functions:
1. A fitting operates the door - handle/door knob/door pull
2. The security part of the fitting protects the lock and cylinder against tearing them off or prying open
When choosing a security fitting you should take into consideration:
- how would you like the door to operate from both sides - handle/door knob/door pull
- the security class of the door
Security fittings come as covered or open.
A covered fitting protects the security cylinder completely, against any tool.
An anti-drill cylinder must be installed into a fitting that is open.
